2013 Spirit of Planetree Award

The Hospital’s spiritual care program includes employed and volunteer chaplains, pastors, Stephen Ministers, parish nurses and Clinical Pastoral Education students. The dedicated volunteer chaplains reflect the religious diversity of the communities we serve with representation from Christian, Messianic Jew, Buddhist, Catholic, Eckankar, Muslim, Christian Science, Mormon, Greek Orthodox, and Seventh Day Adventist traditions. The spiritual care team provides over 10,000 patient visits per year with around the clock, on-call coverage. They also accompany physicians during daily rounds at the Hospital.

Other services provided by the spiritual care program include Therapy Animals in Loving Service, Caring Clowns, Threshold Choir, and a Swami who leads meditation groups within the Hospital.
