ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT

The ACLS Course is designed to teach providers the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult VF/VT arrest. Students are expected to learn to manage ten core cases of ACLS including four types of cardiac arrests, 4 types of pre-arrest emergencies plus acute coronary syndromes and stroke. A student CD is present within the book that you will receive prior to this course. Allow ample time to complete the pre-course preparation checklist whether you are taking a certification or renewal course. This includes a current BLS Healthcare Provider card, review the 10 core cases in the Provider Manual and the algorithms that go with them and completing all of the ACLS Self Assessment tests on ECG's and Pharmacology contained on the disk. You will need to print off the certificate verifying that you have completed the pre-requisites. This will be presented to the course instructor the first day of the course in order to complete the course. Class size is limited. This class should be taken by emergency, intensive care or critical personnel, emergency medical providers such as physicians, nurses, EMT-I and P's, respiratory therapists and other professionals who may need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency. You will receive an American Heart Association course completion card upon successful completion of all the components of this course.
