About the Foundation
Message from the Chair
The success of the Longmont United Hospital Foundation is a continuation of a long and proud tradition of community support for excellent healthcare services in the communities we serve. Over fifty years ago, leaders in our community saw the need for a new hospital; and as a result of their vision, dedication, and generosity, they were successful in raising the funds necessary to build it. Longmont United Hospital opened its doors in 1959, and has been a major asset to the community ever since. The Foundation was created in 1981 to enhance support for the Hospital and its mission
I am honored to serve as Chairman of the Longmont United Hospital Foundation. My family has a long history of commitment to Longmont United Hospital. My father participated in the initial Hospital fund drive with other community leaders; and he later served as a Trustee of the Foundation. My mother served as a volunteer for the original Auxiliary which was organized in 1956 and continued to serve for many years. I have had the privilege of serving and chairing on both the Hospital and Foundation Boards.
The Foundation’s partnership with Longmont United Hospital is one that augments the hospital’s important mission. The money we raise assists the Hospital in building new facilities, buying the latest in medical equipment and providing the community with the best healthcare services available. We offer programs that address the needs of our community and touch many lives. The Foundation sponsors an annual Healthcare Career Scholarship program, which insures that first-rate healthcare providers come to and remain in our community.
Your tax deductible gifts to the Foundation are most appreciated and they make a lasting difference. Philanthropy plays a crucial role in Longmont United Hospital’s growth and future development. Please consider making a gift to the Foundation.
On behalf of Longmont’s hospital family, I thank you for your generosity.
Sincerely,
John C. Flanders
