Centura Health and DispatchHealth Expand Services to Bring On-Demand, Acute Care “House Calls” to Targeted Centura Health Communities in Boulder County

Longmont, CO (insert date)– Centura Health, the region’s health care leader, and DispatchHealth, a leading provider of mobile health care, today announced the expansion of mobile health care services to Boulder County. Together, Centura Health and DispatchHealth are pioneering patient care by bringing health care practitioners directly into patients’ homes or business to provide health care services.

Centura Health and DispatchHealth launched their partnership in October 2015 in the Denver Metro area. There are currently five DispatchHealth teams serving patients. Beginning in June, DispatchHealth will add an additional team to service Boulder County communities. In partnership with Centura Health, DispatchHealth will deliver convenient, high-quality acute care and act as an extension of primary care in the comfort of a consumer’s home, at work or in the location of need.

“Centura Health’s partnership with DispatchHealth supports our goal to keep people out of the hospital,” says Peter Powers, Vice President of Operations at Longmont United Hospital. “We know that health care needs do not always operate on a nine-to-five basis. By expanding services to the Boulder County area, our network will be there for you and your family when you need us.”

Patients who see a primary care physician on a regular basis are less likely to be hospitalized because chronic and acute diseases are caught at an optimal time for intervention. They also use emergency services less frequently. Patients who utilize DispatchHealth services but do not currently have a primary care physician will be connected to a local physician within the Centura Health network, choosing from over 15 providers in seven locations in the Longmont area alone.

This mobile health delivery model enables Centura Health and DispatchHealth to carry out their combined vision to deliver optimal health care value and support population health management. The result is more people get the right care, at the right time, in the right place, for an affordable price.

“DispatchHealth was designed to promote access to care, improve the patient experience and decrease the overall cost of care,” said Dr. Mark Prather, CEO, DispatchHealth. “Care delivery solutions need to be convenient for both patients and providers in order to promote adoption and really move the needle.”

Home-based provider visits are estimated to grow more than 20 percent in the next decade. Consumers want greater convenience and reduced costs from their health care offerings. DispatchHealth features an integrated, high touch triage and care delivery solution utilizing the power of technology, convenience and service to treat acute conditions. Common ailments treated include urinary tract infections, dehydration, minor fractures, asthma, constipation, nosebleeds, nausea/vomiting, lacerations and more.

Focused on integrated, convenient, and high-touch care-delivery, DispatchHealth is redefining the health care landscape by serving as an extension of a patient’s care team. Services are available from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., 7 days a week, including holidays. Patients can simply request care by phone 303-500-1518, on the website at www.dispatchhealth.com or through DispatchHealth’s free mobile application, available for iPhone and Android. DispatchHealth is contracted with all major insurance providers in Colorado, including Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare. Costs, dependent on the care administered, are billed to insurance companies directly. Those currently without insurance will see a flat rate of $225 for their complete onsite care.
