What is pulmonary rehab?

Pulmonary rehab is a program that helps to improve the well-being of people with chronic lung problems. This is achieved by exercise training, nutritional counseling, education on your lung disease, breathing strategies, and learning energy conserving techniques.

What are the benefits of Pulmonary Rehabilitation?

Am I a candidate for pulmonary rehabilitation?

If you have documented lung disease, such as emphysema, bronchitis, asthma, or any other pulmonary conditions you should discuss pulmonary rehabilitation with your physician.

What should I expect?

A Respiratory Therapist and an Exercise Specialist will evaluate, educate, and design an individual exercise program which will include cardiovascular exercise and strength training 2 days per week for 15 weeks. There are also other healthcare professionals (PT, OT, nutrition, social work) available to all Pulmonary Rehabilitation members to assist with their needs.
