Membership in Health Ambitions offers use of our exceptional facility:
At Longmont United Hospital, we have special health and wellness programs to help you relax and lose weight as well as screenings to help you stay healthy. The following programs are open to the community – you do not have to be a Health Ambitions member to participate.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Class is designed to assist individuals who have just had a cardiac event (such as heart attack, bypass surgery, angioplasty) and have a high risk factor (such as
angina, high cholesterol or high blood pressure) to work toward cardiovascular fitness. Medical personnel and exercise specialists provide a safe atmosphere while supervising the program. There are also many educational resources and opportunities to ask questions about medications,
diet and the disease process. Perhaps the most beneficial aspect is the support that develops among the participants.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Class requires a cardiac-related disease and a doctor’s prescription and is covered by most insurance.

Our Balance Screening is a series of three tests that measure your balance and help to find any problem areas you may have. A computerized readout of your balance performance is included. Physical and occupational therapists do the screening, which takes about 30-40 minutes. At the end of the screening a therapist will speak with you about the results, and give you suggestions about how to improve your balance and lessen your risk for falls. Fee $25
Experienced Occupational Therapists can evaluate your home environment, identify potential problems, and recommend changes to help avoid accidents. Their assessment ranges from layout of furniture to lighting and other suggested items to make you safe. Fee $55
Personalized Exercise Program is open to anyone needing a little help with their exercise goals. It allows you to work one-on-one with an Exercise Specialist to develop an individualized exercise program, set attainable goals, and keep you motivated!
This testing procedure measures your Baseline Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is essential to planning your diet and exercise program. It will tell you how many calories your body burns in a resting state for a 24-hour period. This figure can then be used to calculate how to diet and how much exercise is needed to meet your goals. Fee $55 - 30 minute consult or $65 for two consults for non-members / $40 - 30 minute consult or $50 for two consults for members
